Southeast Fuel Shortage: What You Need to Know
Due to a broken pipeline in Alabama, which runs from Houston to New York and carries gas to much of the Southeast and East Coast, the Southeast region is experiencing a severe gas shortage. In addition to areas with limited access to fuel, gas prices are also steadily rising.
As a result, six states – Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia – have declared emergencies and have relaxed restrictions on fuel transportation in an effort to combat shortages and price spikes.
