great place to work

What does it take to be a great place to work? That’s a question, and pursuit, that we take seriously. That’s why we’re excited to share the news that we’ve received the prestigious Great Place to Work® certification. Established 30 years ago, the global designation recognizes companies with high-trust, high-performance workplaces.

According to Great Place to Work, trust is central to what shapes a great workplace, and employees experience trust in five key, and measurable, ways:

Employees view management as credible in its communications, competence, and integrity.

Employees feel respected, supported and cared for as people by management.

Employees believe management practices and policies are fair.

Employees feel pride in their individual work, in the work of their team, and in the company overall.

Employees believe their company is a strong community where colleagues are friendly, supportive, and welcoming.

“Our talent, culture and relationships are core to who are at WEX,” said Melissa Smith, president and CEO of WEX. “We are honored to be included on this list of great places to work. As we continue to grow and build out our internal and external programs, keeping our team happy and engaged will continue to be a priority.”

WEX Employee Ratings

Our certification is based on the results of a Trust Index© Survey of 2,047 WEXers – that’s over 80% of our total global workforce – along with an in-depth Culture Audit©. On key metrics, employees were overwhelmingly positive about the WEX workplace and culture:

Great challenges                       86%

Great atmosphere                    92%

Great rewards:                          86%

Great pride                                92%

Great communication:             89%

Great bosses:                            88%

The Great Place to Work review of WEX provides a detailed snapshot of the survey results, along with information about our employee perks and programs, work-life balance programs, family care programs, health insurance, community and environmental impact, and workforce and leadership diversity. The review also includes insights on how to get hired for those looking to join WEX.

What’s the bottom line for companies that focus on creating a great workplace? According to Great Place to Work, “Our data shows that great workplaces benefit from stronger financial performance, reduced turnover, and better customer and patient satisfaction than their peers. What’s more, work environments with trust at the foundation are ripe for innovation, agility, resilience, and efficiency.”
