As expected this week we can expect new retail price cycles to start taking hold in major the major capitals. However we’re also expecting Perth to peak again on Wednesday. With the combined effect of this timing we could see Australian average price peaks to one of the highest we’ve seen this year.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 192.2cpl

Price range over the last week: 167.3cpl – 218.9cpl

Big jump in ULP prices in Brisbane this week, with more locations moving up to the new peak price 214.9cpl.

Sydney

Current ULP average: 190.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 161.8cpl – 216.9cpl

We’re expecting to see a similar rise in Sydney, mire retailers will be putting prices up during their price cycle.

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 197.1cpl

Price range over the last week: 148.3cpl – 220.0cpl

Melbourne has taken over as the most expensive capital for ULP as more retailers continue to put prices up to 214.9cpl.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 175.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 149.3cpl – 221.4cpl

Short price cycle last week for Adelaide, as expected ULP prices quickly came down to as low as 165.9cpl. If you’re in Adelaide, this week is a good week to fill up!

Perth

Current ULP average: 178.2cpl

Price range over the last week: 166.7cpl – 209.9cpl

With Perth at the bottom of the price cycle, we’re expecting to see the next spike on Wednesday with ULP prices to estimate to be around 214.9cpl.

Darwin (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 189.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 183.5cpl – 191.9cpl

Little movement for Darwin this week.

Hobart (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 193.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 169.9cpl – 200.0cpl

A similar story for Hobart as well, very little change from last week.

Retail diesel prices

Current Diesel averages:

ACT – 236.8cpl

Adelaide – 230.8cpl

Brisbane – 237.6cpl

Darwin – 239.4cpl

Hobart – 243.8cpl

Melbourne – 236.9cpl

Perth – 234.5cpl

Sydney – 237.1cpl

Steady week for retail diesel prices with a slight drop on majority of the capital cities. Adelaide still ranking as the cheapest this week.

Wholesale trends

Wholesale petrol prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going down by 1.2cpl.

Wholesale diesel prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going down by 6.0cpl.
