Enhanced payment security and convenience: ChargePoint’s latest app update
ChargePoint, our trusted partner for EV charging, is pleased to announce that their latest app update includes support for advanced card security (3DS). This new feature enables the use of a credit or debit card as a secure payment method for personal charging sessions that are not covered by a fleet agreement.
For your convenience, we are providing the driver instructions below. Please share these with your drivers if they decide to opt for this feature. The update does not affect charging with a ChargePoint fleet card via Esso Card™.
- To take advantage of the new system, please ensure that your ChargePoint app is updated to version 5.114.0 or later.
- You can then register your credit card, Visa Debit card or Mastercard Debit card as a payment method.
- If you have previously registered a payment card in the app, you must enter the details again to register on the new system.
There’s no need to remove the details of any previously registered cards from the app. All previously registered credit and debit card information was removed from the old system on 11/09/23.
ChargePoint extends their apologies for any inconvenience this may cause but assures us that this update will facilitate a seamless transition to the new payment system, ultimately enhancing the experience for drivers in Europe and the UK.
