Another good week for Motorists with retail price cycles being absent in both Brisbane and Sydney for weeks. Melbourne would normally see a spike or two by now too – but this could come to an end with wholesale prices starting to turn. We can expect to see a slight increase in ULP prices around 199cpl shortly.
Brisbane
Current ULP average: 168.0cpl
Price range over the last week: 155.9cpl – 239.9cpl
This week we saw a significant drop of approx. 12cpl for Brisbane, however no immediate sign of a price cycle anytime soon. This could turn around within the next week.
Sydney
Current ULP average: 170.2cpl
Price range over the last week: 154.9cpl – 224.9cpl
Similar to Brisbane, another drop again for Sydney prices of approx. 12cpl. We’ll likely see a price cycle within the next week but there is no immediate sign at this stage.
Melbourne
Current ULP average: 178.4pl
Price range over the last week: 157.9cpl – 224.0cpl
Substantial drop of average prices this week in Melbourne falling approx. 15cpl over the last week. Again, likely to see a price cycle in another 2 weeks
Adelaide
Current ULP average: 154.1cpl
Price range over the last week: 145.5cpl – 219.7cpl
This week Adelaide is sitting at the bottom of the cycle now with expectations of prices to start jumping any day now. We’re expecting to see a price peak for ULP in the 190s shortly
Perth
Current ULP average: 165.9cpl
Price range over the last week: 149.7cpl – 210.0cpl
With Perth currently in mid-cycle after the peak last week of 199.9cpl we’re anticipating next Tuesday, 9 August will be the best time for motorists to fill up.
Darwin (no price cycle)
Current ULP average: 198.3cpl
Price range over the last week: 193.5cpl – 209.9cpl
This week prices were slow to move down making Darwin the highest priced capital this week.
Hobart (no price cycle)
Current ULP average: 191.7cpl
Price range over the last week: 172.9cpl – 223.9cpl
Prices in Hobart fell approx. 9cpl this past week.

Adelaide – 208.7cpl
Brisbane – 218.8cpl

Adelaide ranked in as the lowest priced capital this week with diesel prices averaging 10cpl.
Wholesale trends
Wholesale petrol prices dropped significantly this week, with average TGP prices decreasing by by 2.3cpl.
Wholesale diesel prices also decreased this week, with average TGP prices dropping by 6.1cpl.
