Over the last few weeks we’ve been monitoring price cycles in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. It looks like Sydney’s latest price cycle has been a long time in the making. It’s been over 2 weeks since we saw any signs of a new price cycle. This week we can expect prices to be 211.9c.l peak for unleaded. Though most retailers have not moved prices up as yet. We’ll keep you up to date to see if other major cities follow suit.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 179.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 161.9cpl – 228.9cpl

Brisbane prices are now moving to the new peak price of 209.9cpl for unleaded which we can expect to spread across approximately 20% of retailers.

Sydney

Current ULP average: 191.1cpl

Price range over the last week: 159.5cpl – 213.9cpl

Sydney now holds the highest average price across all major cities. We can expect more retails to increase their prices to 209.9cpl.

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 173.9cpl

Price range over the last week: 159.5cpl – 211.9cpl

Melbourne has also followed with just under 10% of locations increasing their prices up to 209.9cpl.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 187.9ccpl

Price range over the last week: 169.9cpl – 212.4cpl

Adelaide prices have come down considerably from their peak last week. We can expect another price cycle in the next week.

Perth

Current ULP average: 172.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 162.7cpl – 209.9cpl

Perth  can expect another another peak of 209.9cpl again this Wednesday.

Darwin (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 177.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 171.5cpl – 185.9cpl

A slight increase for Darwin over the past week.

Hobart (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: = 184.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 174.9cpl – 194.9cpl

Similar to Darwin Hobart saw a small rise in the past week.

Retail diesel prices

Current Diesel averages:

ACT – 211.6cpl

Adelaide – 197.1cpl

Brisbane – 206.1cpl

Darwin – 217.1cpl

Hobart – 211.6cpl

Melbourne – 205.2cpl

Perth – 195.4cpl

Sydney – 204.0cpl

Small drop in average retail diesel prices across most capitals over the past week.

Wholesale trends

Wholesale petrol prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going down by 3.0cpl.

Wholesale diesel prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going down by 3.8cpl.
