This week Adelaide experienced unpredictable fuel price swings, where it was almost impossible to keep up with petrol price trends across the city. Motorists could have easily saved around $20 on unleaded petrol (ULP) for a 50-litre fill by shopping around to find the lowest fuel price.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 182.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 147.7cpl – 195.9cpl

ULP price trends are mostly remaining in the 180s for Brisbane this week, with the fuel price cycle having peaked. By shopping around, Brisbane motorists may be able to snap up a saving as petrol pump prices do vary greatly across the city.

Sydney

Current ULP average: 164.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 143.9cpl – 195.9cpl

There is still quite a divide in Sydney this week, with the highest end of the fuel price scale peaking at 195.9cpl, and the other end at around the 150s and even 140s. Be quick to fill up at these low prices as they are on their way up!

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 174.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 142.9cpl – 197.1cpl

Thankfully for Melbourne motorists, there was not much movement on fuel prices this week, with average petrol prices hovering around the 174.7cpl mark. Not many retailers pushed to move their pricing to the 190s this week, which meant there were more service stations offering competitive prices at the pump.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 173.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 134.9cpl – 194.1cpl

It was hard to predict where the fuel price trend would sit in Adelaide this week – with the price of ULP going up, down and then back up all in the span of a few days. Currently, petrol prices are on the decline, so be sure to fill up within the next week when the bottom of the cycle approaches.

Perth

Current ULP average: 153.1cpl

Price range over the last week: 147.5cpl – 179.9cpl

Fill up now if you’re a Perth motorist while the bottom of the fortnightly ULP price cycle is in town. Looking at fuel price trends, another leap into the 190s is predicted for around Wednesday.

Darwin

Current ULP average: 168.3cpl

Price range over the last week: 131.9cpl – 169.9cpl

Only a very small movement in Darwin this week, with petrol price averages tipping up by the slightest amount.

Hobart

Current ULP average: 178.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 165.8cpl – 183.9cpl

Over the past week, Hobart experienced only a very small increase in fuel prices.

Retail diesel prices

Current Diesel averages:
