Australian prices are currently being shielded somewhat from rising fuel prices due to the AUS/USD exchange rate improvement. Without this, we would have seen wholesale prices up to 4-5c/L higher than they are at the moment. The other trend emerging is diesel spot prices are overtaking petrol spot prices again due to a higher demand.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 185.3cpl

Price range over the last week: 162.7cpl – 210.9cpl

Brisbane prices continued to fall over the past fortnight, in line with the other east coast capitals. Given the recent period of price cycles – we can expect another 2-3 weeks before we see the lowest prices though..

Sydney

Current ULP average: 183.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 160.7cpl – 207.9cpl

Sydney has a very similar trend to Brisbane, however some bigger drops in unleaded 91 in the most recent week. Likely to be at least 3 weeks here before we get to the bottom of the price cycle.

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 184.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 165.9cpl – 210.0cpl

Similar to Brisbane and Sydney – Melbourne will be 2-3 weeks off the lowest prices.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 184.1cpl

Price range over the last week: 155.5cpl – 199.9cpl

Adelaide has just spiked again with the new peak price at 192.9cpl for unleaded 91. There are still a handful of locations posting lower prices but that may not last long.

Perth

Current ULP average: 168.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 158.7cpl – 207.9cpl

Perth’s average has dropped again and we can expect a lower peak price for this week, due to falling wholesale prices. Wednesday’s peak price is expected to be 199.9cpl or lower this time around.

Darwin

Current ULP average: 178.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 174.5cpl – 181.9cpl

A few cents lower in Darwin over the past fortnight.

Hobart

Current ULP average: 181.9cpl

Price range over the last week: 172.9cpl – 192.9cpl

Hobart is similar to Darwin, with average prices falling around 3cpl over the past 2 weeks.
