About John Markham

John Markham is vice president of National Accounts, Corporate Payments and Inside Sales OTR (over-the-road) Americas for WEX, responsible for maintaining and growing the OTR portfolios. John joined WEX in 2016 when the company acquired EFS, a corporate payments company with strong relationships in the transportation industry. Prior to that, John served as SVP for EFS’ Western region fleet sales division and led that team to continuous year-over-year sales growth. As SVP of the Western region, John was responsible for the management, growth and business development of EFS’ inside sales, regional sales and national sales western teams since joining the company in 2010.

John has over 20 years of experience in the transportation payments industry where he has consulted with fleets of all sizes helping them better compete and serve their customers by improving efficiencies, mitigating risk and growing revenue. He began his career at Comdata as an inside sales associate and quickly accelerated his career to VP of regional sales, and ultimately VP of sales for both the Western region and strategic groups before leaving the company. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University.
