Recently I had the opportunity to interview Melissa Smith, CEO of WEX Inc., for the ongoing series: CEOs Share 5 Ways to Improve Your Company’s Culture.

Melissa began her career at global corporate payments solutions company WEX in 1997, working her way up the ladder from CFO to president of the Americas, to now CEO. A native of Maine herself, Melissa led Portland-based WEX through its billion dollar revenue milestone in February of 2017.[1] Today, WEX operates in more than 10 countries, providing payment processing and business solutions across a wide spectrum of sectors, including fleet, travel and healthcare.
