Jessica Roy

A combination of intuition and creative marketing communications skills has been Jessica Roy’s cornerstone as she has built her career. In marketing, you often need to handle the unexpected, and Roy believes that following her intuition has helped her successfully navigate difficult conversations, as well as turn potential mishaps into opportunities to delight the customer.

Building the WEX Brand

With WEX for 15 years, Roy has seen the company through a period of rapid growth fueled by company acquisitions, organic growth and expansion into new markets. She finds incredible pleasure and challenge in integrating the products and services of recently acquired companies into the broader WEX offerings. “It’s like a challenging jigsaw puzzle, and it is exciting to put the pieces into the right places,” she says.

A highlight of her time at WEX was the day she stood on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange as WEX went public with a new brand identity she helped shape. The modernization of our brand involved everything from a new name and logo to changing our positioning from a domestic fuel card business to a global payments company. “What I realized in that moment was that a small group of talented, driven people can accomplish amazing things,” says Roy of the WEX brand launch.

Each month, The Glass Hammer features the stories and achievements of female WEX employees to help women in the professional world reach higher in their careers. Read more about Roy’s career and her work at WEX in her Glass Hammer profile.
