WEX Today

"At WEX, we strive to achieve a fully inclusive workplace that unifies and celebrates the diversity of our people. To fully realize our potential as a company, we must embrace our differences in culture, identity and background."

Melissa Smith, Chair and CEO

Employee Resource Groups

As part of WEX’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, we have taken on the important work of forming and embracing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). The ERGs serve as touchpoints for communities across WEX with shared interests, cultures, identities and backgrounds.

Women@WEX is committed to empowering women at WEX by connecting, developing, and retaining female talent. Guided by WEX’s overarching commitment to diversity and inclusion, Women@WEX serves as a voice for women in the workplace; facilitates professional development, and fosters supportive and productive ties.

Committed to serving and empowering WEX’s LGBTQ+ community, WEXPride offers LGBTQ+ employees and allies a space to develop and advance their causes throughout WEX and our community.

NexGen is a community of early-career professionals at WEX. It connects, develops, and empowers the next generation of leaders through programming that fulfills the desire for personal and professional growth.

Black Growth Council

The Black Growth Council recognizes how the pursuit of excellence intersects with a commitment to diversity within WEX. The BGC seeks to contribute in advancing African American/Black diversity within the WEX community.

WEXVets convenes WEX’s community of veteran professionals to engage, mentor and empower one another through interactions with leaders and social and professional development programming. Additionally, WEXVets aims to assist in WEX’s external talent recruitment strategy and commitment to diversity across the company as a community brand ambassador.

WEXPats supports all ethnically diverse employees regardless of whether they are a newcomer, an expat, an immigrant, or an employee who works with global colleagues and wants to learn more about other cultures. WEXPats’ ultimate goal is to foster a culture of belonging where multicultural employees can feel at home while away from home.

Parents@WEX seeks to build a community of new and experienced moms & dads to provide support and resources to working WEX parents as we navigate parenthood.

WEX4All supports WEX employees with disabilities and their allies.

We know our success has long been tied to our commitment to celebrating the differences in our people and encouraging our people to be their most authentic selves; we acknowledge that building a sustainable company requires an intentional and continual focus on Diversity & Inclusion in everything we do.

Congratulations to all who completed the @mcf_triforacure! This year, every day was race day as women across more than 10 states came together (virtually!) throughout the month of August to swim, bike, run and raise funds for @maine_cancer. We're prouder than ever to support this event and of everyone working to fight cancer in Maine. Read more at the link in our bio.

When Samantha Bennefeld found out she would be moving to a remote internship, she was worried she wouldn’t be able to connect with her team as well as if they were in the office. Luckily, her experience at WEX has left her pleasantly surprised. ...

Joining us for the summer from @uofpenn, Kevin Chen says the collaborative and supportive nature of his team made his transition to WEX a great experience. He’s now working alongside our Software Engineering team to reimagine our reporting tools so that we can continue capturing cutting-edge insights for our customers and partners. ...

This Thursday, WEX will join thousands of employers in celebrating National Intern Day. While we can’t share the day with our interns in person, we thought we’d share some of the things this year’s cohort has said about their experience thus far. First up is Katrina Ung, a cybersecurity major at @usouthernmaine who’s found that, even in a virtual environment, the value WEX places on diversity and development is tangible. ...
