WEX Head of Product Asia Pacific Anna George Featured in The Glass Hammer

Building a diversified skill set throughout her career helped Anna George uncover her love for product management – a passion that led her to WEX three years ago to head up product and innovation for Asia Pacific. Anna was introduced to the world of payments accidentally, when she accepted a job in the industry while studying for her degree in Business Information Technology. However, it was 15 years spent in a variety of roles at GE that solidified her career.

Gaining Valuable Expertise

Anna is a strong advocate for women in the workplace and is most proud of her role in developing team members and mentoring other professionals who have gone on to become leaders. Her own experience has shown her the value of starting your career with a large organization where you can work across various functions to build your skill set. “Take every opportunity because you never know where it may lead you,” she says.

A recent recipient of the Women in Payments Innovation Award, Anna is currently working on new product launches designed to diversify WEX’s offerings. Those efforts are closely tied to her strong belief that to provide the right solution to the problem, you must always understand your customers’ and stakeholders’ needs.
