WEX Celebrates the Holidays

December 21, 2017

As 2017 draws to a close, WEXers around the world have been sharing the holiday spirit with each other and the communities where they live and work. In our Maine headquarters, there has been a flurry of festivities – and snowflakes – to ring in the season. Our community focus this holiday season has been The Congolese Community of Maine (COCOMaine). A Giving Tree decorated with gift suggestions – a holiday tradition at our headquarters – helped WEXers generously fill our Giving Trunk with presents and gift cards for COCOMaine families.

The mission of COCOMaine is to facilitate integration of the Congolese people and assist them during their transition to life in Maine. The organization also promotes entrepreneurship and Congolese culture and values through education, social events and public forums within the state of Maine. Learn more about COCOMaine on their Facebook page.

This time of year also gives WEXers a chance to pause and enjoy some seasonal cheer together. We kicked things off with an employee luncheon that featured prime rib, all the fixings, and an assortment of delicious pies. To wrap up the festivities, WEXers shared the holiday spirit yesterday morning over cups of hot coffee and cocoa and locally famous Tony’s Donuts in our café.
